Recipes

Add ingredient lines to a recipe to see its cost. Click a recipe to open it, then use "Set pricing" to enter servings (how many the recipe yields) and a price per serving — that unlocks revenue, gross profit, and gross profit margin: (revenue − ingredient cost) ÷ revenue.

Premium adds allergen tags, step-by-step instructions, and a "scale to N servings" view that recalculates ingredient quantities on screen for reference — it never changes what's saved.

Ingredients

Price paid, package size, and unit define cost per unit — everything else in the app builds on this. Premium lets you add alternate suppliers per ingredient for comparison; "Use this price" copies a supplier's numbers onto the ingredient.

Inventory

On Hand is what you actually have, entered in whole packages (never negative). Needed is calculated live from the Weekly Planner. Premium adds a low-stock threshold per ingredient — set it and you'll see a warning banner here, a badge on the Inventory link, and a ⚠️ next to the ingredient once On Hand drops to or below it.

Weekly Planner

Add a recipe, quantity, time bucket, and day to build out the current week (Sunday–Saturday). If what's planned needs more of an ingredient than you have On Hand, a warning points you to the Grocery List. Commit Week subtracts everything planned from On Hand (floored at 0) and clears the planner — use it once you've actually made the batch.

Grocery List

Auto-computed shortfall — needed minus on hand — across everything currently in the Weekly Planner. Print or share it from the page.

Pricing Settings (premium)

Set your hourly rate, overhead %, and target margin here — these are account-wide defaults, not per recipe. On a recipe, set "time to make" (minutes) to pull in labor cost. With all of that in place, the recipe page shows ingredient cost + labor + overhead as a full cost, and a suggested price per serving to hit your target margin.

Leave any of the three settings blank and that piece just doesn't factor in — nothing breaks.

Reports (premium)

Log a sale (recipe, quantity, price charged, date) any time you sell something — the price and ingredient cost are frozen at that moment, so editing a recipe later doesn't rewrite past reports. Filter by date range to see revenue, ingredient cost, profit, margin, and your most profitable recipes, or export the range as CSV.

Premium

Pricing Settings, recipe depth (instructions/allergens/scaling), supplier tracking, low-stock alerts, and Reports are all premium features. Recipes, Ingredients, Inventory, Weekly Planner, and Grocery List are free (with a 2-recipe limit). Manage your subscription from the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy covers what BatterWise stores, which services it shares data with, and how to delete your account.
